restless youth

Silly me thought that the summer months would bring a break from the hectic school months. Unfortunately, my level of busyness has stayed pretty much the same. It feels like every day in the week is jam packed full of things to do. The older I get, the more I start to realize that summer becomes no longer the time for silly playfulness and days spent lying in the sun (not that I have actually spent weekdays doing that since I started having summer jobs 4 summers ago). But even a year back everything seemed different. The word summer used to represent vacation time, now it just means a season when the weather gets too hot and clothing layers seem to slide away. Summer is now just a period of time before yet another school year of sleepless nights, too much caffeine, and new experiences.

I suppose I've been feeling restless as I spend most of my free time watching Dawson's Creek, listening to the same couple songs on repeat, starting books and pushing them to the side after only reading a few pages, and trying to decide where I want to be after two years and never liking my choices.

As time slides by quicker than sand between my fingers I only hope that my restlessness settles soon so that I can stay on track with all my tasks.

nineteen.

Last Sunday I turned nineteen. I didn't exactly take it as a big deal, after all, it's just another birthday. Yet, I've spent this past week reflecting on my 19 years of life, and this blog has worked its way into my thoughts. Browsing through my older posts shocks me. It's rather like watching a film about my life...I can see myself mature and grow up. Even a month makes a difference, and it's shocking. Sometimes this blog isn't really about showing the world my fashion sense, it's more of a documentation of my own personal growth. I've become a witness to my own existence and the photographic proof is the cherry on top of everything.
Lately my fashion sense has been rocketing around, always changing. The couple weeks that I didn't blog were full of outfits that I never thought that I would wear, but that I surprisingly liked.
Overall, nineteen is gonna be a whirlwind. I'm excited.

Ps. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers.

hello beautiful

This gazebo has been vacated for the past couple days, to my utter delight. The past couple of weeks it was nearly impossible to try and take outfit photos there, since there would always be at least a couple of people sitting there, enjoying the view of the lake, chatting or sparking a meeting with the ducks and swans. I suppose the heat and humidity combination is keeping people locked up in cooler areas. Nonetheless, I was happy to venture there, for nothing makes me enjoy an outfit photo session more, than a gorgeous lake. My tripod and I had a splendid time.
I was flipping through some old Teen Vogue editorials before work today, and all I can say is that I need some chilly weather. My wardrobe and I were made for autumn, not summer.

musings of a dreamer

I am and always will be a 90's kid. Weren't the 90's the best decade? I often find myself feeling sorry for kids who have to grow up in this new age. All the new technology seems to make childhood less fun. I remember having to come home when the streetlights were on, playing in the park, wearing crowns of braided dandelion's, dancing to the Spice Girls, and wearing a lot of spandex. Those were the good times. I miss them. A lot. This outfit is my tribute to the 90's. Unfortunately, I forgot to wear my white ruffled socks. Denim, braids, friendship bracelets, hair clips, neon spandex shorts, the whole combo. Got to love the 90's.

daylight glamour

Today was a "meh" day. Went shopping with a purpose in mind but wasn't successful, plus I gained some horrible blisters on my heels. The shoes I wore are normally comfortable, but the humidity combined with my already poor heels just didn't mix well. I'm in horrible pain right now. :(

I love this lace skirt. I feel so glamorous wearing it. I think glamour is underrated. Most people think being glamorous should be saved for fancy parties or special occasions. I disagree completely. I think dressing glamorous on a day to day basis is perfectly acceptable. It makes you feel beautiful, strong and elegant. What's wrong with that?

There were tons of silly photos today, and I like this one. It makes me smile.
