snow is on my feet

Yesterday my beloved tripod broke. Therefore I had to get creative with taking today's outfit photos. I really hope that I get a new tripod soon.
Winter is beginning to look white. At this very moment snow is gently falling outside my window. It's absolutely beautiful. Although I'm loaded down with school reading, I hope that by the weekend I'll have some time to go skating. When I was little my parents and I used to go skating all the time. We would go to this little ring shaped (it had trees growing in the middle) ice rink that was located at a bottom of a hill; it was always rather hard to get down. After skating, there was a machine where you could put in a dollar and get either hot chocolate or noodle soup in a cup. I think it's these little things from my childhood that I'll always remember.

Ps. Please excuse the look of the walls, we're currently renovating, but I do think that the walls fit the outfit.

It's Christmas Eve. Before I go and spend time with my family, I thought I'd show you all my holiday dress. This dress came into my life unexpectedly, but it is such a gorgeous piece and I'm so glad that my holiday pictures this year will feature me in this dress.
Tonight my family will sit down to a traditional Lithuanian Christmas Eve table set with 12 different dishes. We will also set an empty place for the family that cannot be with us. Each dish will be meat free, and after a lovely dinner we will go to midnight mass. After mass we will come home to enjoy a traditional Lithuanian Christmas Eve desert, and then it will be time for bed. We have many more traditions, but I thought I'd mention those.

What kind of traditions does your family have?

Ps. It's finally snowing. I think my wish of a white Christmas will come true.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Christmas Eve. If you don't celebrate Christmas then happy holidays. :)

Happy Easter! Today was a lovely day. My parents and I went to church, then we came home and had lunch. In Lithuania we have a tradition where we each hit our eggs with others at the table, and the person with the egg that is in the best condition in the end will have a really lucky year. This year my egg was the strongest, so hopefully I will have a good year. After that we talked to some family via web cam, had dinner, and spent a lovely evening talking.
On other news, I've been working on a couple of DIY's these past couple of days. I designed a shirt, one is still in the making process, and I'm DIYing a skirt right now...basically taking a really long skirt and making it shorter by cutting the bottom part off and adding some elastic.
Hope you're all having an amazing weekend!

The weather is making me mad lately. It keeps changing, one day it's really warm, the next it's snowing. I cannot wait till April is over. April always has incredibly weird weather. Since Easter is coming up, I'm enjoying dressing up in lovely floral patterned clothes, and bright/light colours. Easter is such a lovely holiday, not only because there's lots of chocolate involved, but because my family has a lot of little traditions, like painting eggs with wax.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
