contemplation

I haven't looked through many of the Spring 2010 collections so far but from the ones I have seen, I have positively fallen in love with Rodarte. It's completely different from anything that I would ever think of wearing, but compared with all the other collections, this is the one collection where I would want to see everything in my closet. The beauty of the clothing simply stuns me. When I look at the clothes I'm not even sure what I'm looking at, for to me it looks more like a piece of art than an article of clothing.

What do you all think?

in the spotlight

dress, Guess. shoes, Nine West. headband, Gap. jewelry, custom made.

I'm working hard these days, and I'm thinking about getting a second job for the weekends at a golf club. It might not even be every weekend and it would be a good way to get some extra spending money. Anyways, today I went to the mall with my parents and I saw so many lovely things. I'm currently searching for staples, especially in the shoe area, but most of the stuff I really liked was full price, so I must now wait for sales...hmph. I have a huge wish list from Club Monaco at the moment, which has become my new favourite store. The best part about the store is that most of the things are very basic (simply put, they're staples), so I want to get some things that I could wear over and over again by mixing with more complex items that I already own. Plus, it's very good quality clothing.

the beauty of a souvenir

Lately I've discovered many new old clothes in my basement, and now I cannot wait to wear them. Since I wear a uniform to school, I don't always get the chance to dress in my own clothes after school, so I don't simply want to take pictures of what I've found and waste the moment of surprise. I'm currently very much into dresses that are a bit below my knee. For anyone who used to watch The O.C., I love Summer's clothes in the third season. She has an amazing sense of style and all her dresses are to die for...at least in my opinion.

The tunic I'm wearing was featured in a photoshoot in one of my first posts, and I said it was vintage, yet unfortunately I was wrong, it's actually from Nigeria. Someone bought it for my mom a long time ago as a souvenir, so it is old, but definitely not "vintage". I love souvenir's. They are truly wonderful.

tunic, gift from Nigeria. leggings, Talula from artizia. shoes, Enzo Angiolini. belt, vintage.
I'm currently searching for some good books to read, although I already have some in mind. I really enjoyed reading Jane Eyre, so I'm hoping to read some more Bronte novels, and than I want to get started on Jane Austen. I'd love to read Pride and Prejudice. I heard it's amazing. Anyways, suggestions would be lovely.
