floral nightmare

I love these vintage high-waisted leggings, but they are kind of big so they tend to slip down a lot. But nonetheless, I do love them, they are so amazing and remind me of the AA Disco Pants.
Floral shirts are my new favourite thing. I've uncovered a bunch of vintage ones that my mom thrifted when she was younger. This is one of the many you'll be seeing in the future.

crazy cat lady wears florals

My mom has an amazing collection of scarves. I could probably wear a different one every single day for a year and there still would be some left over. I've decided to take advantage of this, which is why over the next couple months you'll all be seeing different scarves everyday (unless I accidently forget and wear the same one twice). It's rather nice to have a new scarf each day, one to match each outfit.

This morning I put together my outfit and had a huge urge to incorporate cats in somehow. My mom actually has a couple scarves with cats, but this red one was my favourite. I think it adds a little quirkiness to my outfit.

My parents bought me a chocolate bunny for Easter. Awwwww!

contemplation

I haven't looked through many of the Spring 2010 collections so far but from the ones I have seen, I have positively fallen in love with Rodarte. It's completely different from anything that I would ever think of wearing, but compared with all the other collections, this is the one collection where I would want to see everything in my closet. The beauty of the clothing simply stuns me. When I look at the clothes I'm not even sure what I'm looking at, for to me it looks more like a piece of art than an article of clothing.

What do you all think?

look ugly in a photograph

According to my dashboard, this is my 100th post, and therefore, I have a little video for you all. My first vlog, as promised ages ago.

I don't think I did that great of a job explaining why I named my blog what I did since I get really camera shy, even when it's just me. Anyways, to explain further, when I say fashion "restraints", I'm referring to the people around us. For example, in high school most kids dressed exactly the same. On non-uniform days students seemed to be more in uniform than on regular days. When I used to come to school dressed differently, people would look at me weird, therefore, being able to step out of this realm where people dress the same, is in a way breaking free of the fashion restraints that some put around us. Look Ugly in a Photograph initially represents all of the fashion bloggers who post their outfits to show the world their unique sense of style, and anyone who dares to dress in a way that may seem "different" to a majority of people. It's daring to not be afraid of looking "ugly" in the eyes of society.
Hope you all understood that!

Ps. Reaching my 100th post makes me feel as if I'm truly a blogger now. :)

Outfit details: dress, vintage. jewelry, gifts. shoes, Nicole. headband, thrifted.

I have decided to allow anonymous posting, so even if you don't have a blog you can comment :)

if i could turn back time

I have always had a place in my heart for the Christian Dior couture collections. From all the designers that have couture collections, the Christian Dior collections always seem to stand out among the rest, and in my opinion, they are the most creative. The Fall 2009 couture collection is simply amazing. John Galliano was inspired by photographs from the 1950's that showcased Monsieur Dior getting his models dressed for shows. Therefore, the models in this show appear half dressed, with an emphasis on a particular item of clothing. Although this couture collection is deemed rather "simple" compared to previous collections, it is also noted that John Galliano used a stroke of genious to turn the typical 50's housewife look into something that is utterly stunning, feminine, and quite sexy while still remaining classy at the same time.

If I could own any piece from this collection, I would be the happiest person in the world.

This reminds me of one of the first original Barbie Dolls. Anyone else see the resemblance?

hello, meet my friends: jimmy and choo

Today was a wonderful day filled with expensive clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery. Me and my best friend walked around downtown gazing into the windows of Tiffany's, Chanel and Louis Vuitton just to name a few. After that, we walked to Holts and almost died when we tried on Blahniks, Choos, Louboutins and many other wonderful and beautiful designer shoes. Than we looked at some amazing gowns by Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa.

Tomorrow, my wonderful spring break continues with a trip to the mall, the movies and an art gallery.

i don't want to dream, about all the things that never were

Today I was the random girl in the park with the tripod and a bunch of black balloons running around in freezing weather. Cars kept stopping by to see what I was doing. I found it hilarious.

Finally spring break starts, except I have a report and essay to finish. They have to be emailed to the teachers by Saturday. Oh why can't teachers just give us a break? I'm anxiously awaiting to hear from Ryerson about Fashion Communication. Early acceptance is April and regular acceptance is May. I really hope I get in. It would make my life complete...quite literally.

I've lately been overcome with a mood that has made me want to live somewhere far far away. Most likely Europe. This is the beautiful capital of Lithuania (my homeland), Vilnius. Wouldn't it be wonderful to live in such a place?

The city streets, the culture...the fashion and the nightlife. Oh how I love thee.
