book/worm

My second week of university is over, and so far I'm still loving it. Everything about university is so completely amazing that I cannot put into words how happy I am that I am finally at this point in my life.
As I mentioned before, my University is split into little colleges that act as your home base. Sort of like the houses in Harry Potter. Anyways, every year, each of the colleges has their own book sale, and my college always has theirs first. So today when it opened I went with one of my very good friends where we spent a good hour looking through various books. I ended up buying a lot of books, so many in fact that I had to put them all in a huge box which I then had to lug on the subway during rush hour on my way home. The little blue book I'm holding in my pictures is one of the books I bought.
I also happened to run into the lovely Elizabeth from Chic Heroin today. I knew she went to my university, but I never expected to run into her because the campus is so big. Yet today I did. It was completely random, and weird (in a good way) because you never expect to see another blogger in a real life. It was rather exciting though because I've never met any other bloggers before.

I'm off to go do some reading now. Have a good day everybody!

Ps. The random chair is still there in the park. I'm in half the mind to take it home with me. It is a rather nice chair.

it's your time to shine

As I mentioned in my post yesterday, I received two awards, and I'm supposed to pass them along to some other bloggers, as well as noting 10 things about myself.

1. I have a coffee addiction.
2. I enjoy watching very old films with terrible special effects.
3. I can get very paranoid at the smallest things.
4. My favourite number is 3, and the most special days in my life all contain the number 3 or a multiple of 3.
5. I used to wait for my Hogwarts letter to arrive, but it never did. I still think it got lost in the mail, or the owl got intercepted.
6. I don't believe in love at first sight, and in general, I'm a pessimist when it comes to love.
7. I love post-it notes. I stick them EVERYWHERE.
8. Old things are wonderful. Old books, old clothes, old jewelry, old bags, old furniture; old things simply have lots of character and I love it.
9. My little secret: I could watch The Lizzie McGuire Movie over and over. I think it is the most entertaining movie ever. It always puts me in a good mood.
10. When I was 8, I wanted to be a ninja.

I tried to think up the most random things about myself so it would vary from other posts that I've had that were similar to this.

I give these two awards to the following bloggers:

I feel that these bloggers all deserve the awards for their wonderful blogs. I feel that it's time to mention that I plan to reveal my own award in the next week or so. It's gonna be a bit different than regular awards but you'll all have to wait and see it.

Today I discovered the most spectacular fabric in my basement and it was perfectly ready to be made into a skirt. I simply had to add an elastic band and sew two seams together. It's such a gorgeous print, yet so bold. I hope i conjure an outfit with it soon, so you can all see it.

we're the breakfast club

I had an amazing weekend that was filled with laughter, late night walks, games, lots of DDR, beautiful architecture, late night movies, and most importantly, new friends. My commuter orientation was very successful and I met some truly lovely people whom I hope to see in the future. This weekend definitely made me even more excited for the start of university. It felt strange to be going to university orientation when it seems it was only yesterday when I was attending my grade 9 orientation. Anyways, I had a wonderful weekend, and to top it all off, I went out for coffee with one of my friends when I got back from university, and this is what I wore. My weekend outfits are not blog worthy, as I dressed down a bit.

Ps. I received two lovely awards from Nicola Ticola Ponders. I'm supposed to say 10 things about myself and give the award to some other amazing bloggers. Instead of doing it today I will do it tomorrow.

oh, the weather is so delightful

Sorry for the lack of update for a couple days, but I kept forgetting to charge my camera :) Anyways, today I do have an update, and that's what matters. It was amazingly warm today, and I was happy to embrace the lovely weather. School is still stressful, but only 77 days left till I'm done, so it's much more bearable with each passing day.
Although the weather is becoming so nice, I'm sad that soon it'll be too warm for tights, and since I'm addicted to my tights, what shall I ever do without them?
Hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather :)

dress, vintage. belt, unknown. hat, Aldo. shoes, Aldo. jewellery, some gifts, some vintage, some random.
I adore this dress. I've had it for so many years, I used to use it to play dress-up, and I remember when it used to go all the way to the floor for me. I pulled it out of a bag of costumes the other day and I cannot believe I haven't been wearing it for so long. It's a gorgeous dress and I am in love with it. I am also very much in love with the shoes. They have the most amazing wooden heels, and they are the most comfy shoes I own...well technically my mom owns them, but that's beside the point. :)
The lovely Le Femme Chic tagged me, but I'm going to save the tag for a day when I have no outfit post. :)
Quote of the day
"While clothes may not make the woman, they certainly have a strong effect on her self-confidence — which, I believe, does make the woman."
