spring fever

When all else in life is dull, the only thing to do is to dress up in bright colours and let the sun shine down on you.
I'm just sick of school right now, and the only thing that keeps my mood above utterly depressed is knowing that as of today there is only 81 days till I'm done high school. 81 horrible days till I'm done with that yellowish brick building. :)

"who knew photography was such exercise"

I had an absolutely wonderful and thrilling day. My friend's photography project was to represent my life through pictures, so I got to dress up in lovely clothes and do really fun things for the pictures. It was exhausting to change. I must have changed around 15 times throughout the day. Lol. Unfortunately, she has to develop her pictures in a dark room, so I won't get to see them for a while, but I took pictures of two things that I wore, so you can see them below.

I hope you're all having an amazing weekend. The first few pictures are what I wore today. :)

spring is awakening!

While walking home from the bus stop today, I couldn't help but notice how lovely the weather was. I was boiling by the time I got home, and it was wonderful to take my coat off. I have to say that I simply adore spring, it's just an amazing time of the year. Everything is turning green, flowers are growing, it just seems as if everything is magical.

Although I'm going to be loaded down with homework this weekend, I'm going to try to enjoy the spectacular weather. Tomorrow I'm going to be helping my best friend with her photography project, so I expect to have some magnificent pictures to show.

the beauty of a souvenir

Lately I've discovered many new old clothes in my basement, and now I cannot wait to wear them. Since I wear a uniform to school, I don't always get the chance to dress in my own clothes after school, so I don't simply want to take pictures of what I've found and waste the moment of surprise. I'm currently very much into dresses that are a bit below my knee. For anyone who used to watch The O.C., I love Summer's clothes in the third season. She has an amazing sense of style and all her dresses are to die for...at least in my opinion.

The tunic I'm wearing was featured in a photoshoot in one of my first posts, and I said it was vintage, yet unfortunately I was wrong, it's actually from Nigeria. Someone bought it for my mom a long time ago as a souvenir, so it is old, but definitely not "vintage". I love souvenir's. They are truly wonderful.

I'm currently searching for some good books to read, although I already have some in mind. I really enjoyed reading Jane Eyre, so I'm hoping to read some more Bronte novels, and than I want to get started on Jane Austen. I'd love to read Pride and Prejudice. I heard it's amazing. Anyways, suggestions would be lovely.

“I'm just crazy about Tiffany's! - Breakfast at Tiffany's”

Last night my mom came home with a bag, handed it to me, and told me someone from her work gave me a present. I opened the bag up, and saw mounds of black velvet. After pulling it out, I discovered it was the most amazing vintage black velvet dress ever. It's strapless, with a sweetheart neckline, and it stops about 4 inches above my ankles. It's utterly gorgeous. After my terrible mood yesterday, it perked me right up. I'm not going to post a picture yet because I still haven't decided where I'm going to wear it, or what I'll even do with it. I'm thinking that I might have a photoshoot while wearing it, but I need to find a very beautiful place to take the pictures. Anyways, seeing the dress made me think of Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffany's. I ended looking up some other velvet dress, and I have to say that they're really growing on me. What do you all think of them? Would you wear a velvet dress or no? Feelings, thoughts, I would love to hear them. :)

Even though these Audrey Hepburn pictures don't reveal her wearing a velvet dress, my own dress reminded me of the movie.
Pictures are from: Badgley Mischka dress/splendicity.com. Ralph Lauren/milady.cz. Chloe dress/stylehive.com. bridalwave.tv. Sorry I don't know where the BatT pictures are from. I saved them a long time ago.
These dresses are so lovely, and the Audrey Hepburn pictures make me want to go dress up and stand outside a Tiffany's store window eating croissants and drinking coffee...maybe I will one day. ;)

When you're down and lost, Along the way, Oh, just tell yourself, Ah, I'll be ok

What a terrible day. School has got me so consumed, I'm literally walking around on the verge of tears everyday. I really just want to graduate and be done with high school. On brighter news, spring is really turning into full gear and the sun just keeps on shining. Always a good sign.

I'm currently getting back into my drawing phase after having been on a hiatus after all the stressful portfolio stuff for university was dealt with. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll be able to scan some stuff and post it for you all to see. :)
Also, since I've been pretty down lately and just stressed out, I found that listening to
I'll Be Ok by McFly really helps. Plus it's just an amazing song. So check it out. You have to really listen to the words as well. :)

spring has returned

First day back from spring break, any break that is, is very depressing. Today was just another day at school, the usual people, hallways, teachers and time spent staring at the clock wishing the day would be over. Anyways, the good news is that my wait for my acceptance or decline for Ryerson is getting closer, considering it's almost April. I wish they would mail them out sooner, waiting is utterly stressful. I would appreciate knowing whether my future is going to go in the direction I want it to go or not.
I was browsing my computer and I came upon some really nice outfits that had the blazer as the main focus. I have a really nice white blazer from Bershka that I got about 2 years ago in Europe. I'm thinking that I need to create an outfit with it...no idea what to pair it with yet.
The sun is out today, but it's still pretty cold. Unfortunately, the sun prevented me from taking a clear picture of my dress which is black with white polka dots. Hope you all still like the outfit! :)

see the party, see the ball gowns

Do you know those days when you go to the mall just for the point of going and than accidentally you find that amazing dress, or shoes or whatever else? Well, that was today for me. I bought two pairs of shoes and two hats for under $50. After that I went into BCBG MaxAzria and I found THE prom dress. It's so gorgeous. The colour is goldish/bronze and it has black tulle underneath and kinda sticking out. Ahhh! It's just amazing. I'm not gonna post a picture until prom though...I'm gonna keep you all in suspense. But it's just amazing. As for my shoes and hats, well, you'll see them in outfits coming up.

Anyways, I didn't take pictures of my outfit today, but I did a little photoshoot yesterday, so here are some of my favourite pictures. I can't wait till my apple tree blossoms. I'll be able to take so many nice pictures then.

I snuck into my neighbours yard for the third and fifth pictures. Lol. It's just I loved the way the trees were growing and I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Hehe, I love my prom dress. :)

ever fallen in love with someone, you shouldn't have fallen in love with?

An utterly boring day, but I did get lots of rest. I think it was the first day all week that I actually slept in later than 9. I ended up finishing an essay, and than I walked to a little mall near me and got some pretty pink patterned tights from Winners. After that I went to Dollarama and bought some pretty handmade stickers that I use when I make birthday cards. Anyways, I brought out my red tights and my lovely Mickey and Minnie shirt. Just comfy clothes. I also wanted to apologize for the fact that I keep wearing those shorts, but I'm lacking winter skirts at the moment, and those shorts are just SO comfy.

Oh, and Sleepover is officially the BEST movie ever!

"yes sir, i quite agree...good use of colour and oh, the concept is divine"

Today was extremely hectic, but an overall good day. My best friend and I started our day off with a quick trip to the mall to pick up some heels that were being fixed, and than we headed down to the cinema to see Confessions of a Shopaholic, a very funny and entertaining movie. After that, we went down to the Art Gallery of Ontario where we spent time looking at numerous lovely paintings. I have to say that I'm not very much into modern art, I don't understand it, and it's completely not my style, therefore, I was kind of disappointed that there was so much of it in the gallery. I prefer works of art depicting landscapes, and people that have been drawn from Shakespear's plays. It was fun to look at the works of art, but somehow my friend and I found the HUGE spiraling staircase the best form of artistic expression. It was terrible to climb up it, but really spectacular at the same time.

Only four days left of spring break!

Here is the staircase that we climbed. It was really hard to take a picture, but it's extraordinary in real life.

I think I should mention that when we got to the top of this staircase, we were really dizzy and we felt sick to our stomachs. But right at the top we saw a huge wax head that was stretched out. WE felt as if we were hallucinating. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a picture, but if I ever find a picture of the head, I'll be sure to post. It was really really strange.

hello, meet my friends: jimmy and choo

Today was a wonderful day filled with expensive clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery. Me and my best friend walked around downtown gazing into the windows of Tiffany's, Chanel and Louis Vuitton just to name a few. After that, we walked to Holts and almost died when we tried on Blahniks, Choos, Louboutins and many other wonderful and beautiful designer shoes. Than we looked at some amazing gowns by Oscar de la Renta and Marchesa.

Tomorrow, my wonderful spring break continues with a trip to the mall, the movies and an art gallery.
